Board of Directors

The Board of Directors of NYSDRA is composed of fifteen to twenty-one members. Directors are elected by the membership and hold office for a maximum of three consecutive two-year terms. Board Members are elected at NYSDRA's Annual Meeting, and take office the following January.

The Executive Committee is comprised of the President, President-Elect, Treasurer, and Secretary of the association. Officers are elected by the Board of Directors and hold office for a maximum of two one-year terms., running from January – December of a calendar year.

Board President

Bernadette Poole-Tracy     
Bernie is President of AEDU-TECH Systems, Inc. and an experienced volunteer/private mediator.  Dr. Poole-Tracy has over 25 years of managerial, administrative, and teaching/training leadership experiences in the corporate, academic, government and non-profit community organization arenas. Bernie has been a NYSDRA Board Member since 2006.

 
President Elect

Tara Fishler, Esq.
Tara is the owner of Customized Training Solutions which provides training to adults and children in schools and organizations on topics including mediation, communication, anger management, diversity, anti-bullying, conflict resolution. Tara has been a NYSDRA Board Member since 2009.
 

Treasurer

David Louis
David has been a mediator since 2006 and is a Partner and Principal Mediator for Conflict Resolution Group Inc.  This private mediation practice specializes in separation and divorce, family and workplace matters. David has been a NYSDRA Board Member since 2011.

 
Secretary

Peter S. Glassman, Esq.
Peter is a Capital District native, a licensed attorney, and a certified mediator. He has been a community mediator since 1990, and a family and divorce mediator since 1991. Click here to read his blog. Peter has been a NYSDRA Board Member since 2009.

 

   

Michael Kapala
Michael is the Program Director of the Dispute Resolution Center of Herkimer County, a Component of the NYS Unified Court System and sponsored by Catholic Charities of Herkimer County. Michael joined the NYSDRA Board of Directors this year.


Jack Kellogg
Jack is a freelance computer instructor who has owned several businesses for the past 35 years. volunteers for the Canandaigua Chamber of Commerce, serves on their Ambassador Committee, and is a Rotarian. He is also a volunteer mediator in C&V, FDM, and a Certified Arbitrator in Lemon Law, and FDA. Jack joined the NYSDRA Board of Directors this year.
 

Richard Lutringer
Richard is a partner at Morgan Lewis LLP and practices commercial mediation, probate mediation and community dispute resolution. Richard has been a NYSDRA Board Member since 2009.
Frances Marx
Francie is the retired Director of Development for the Al Sigl Center in Rochester, New York where she was responsible for long range strategic planning and oversight for all fund raising programs, and execution of the major giving program. Francie has been a NYSDRA Board Member since 2009.

 


Jennifer Morris
Jenn is the Director of the Dispute Resolution Center of Chenango, Delaware and Otsego Counties, a program of Catholic Charities of Delaware and Otsego County. Jenn joined the NYSDRA Board of Directors this year.


Lisa Renee Pomerantz, Esq.
Lisa has more than thirty years of varied legal experience and has had her own practice in Suffolk County since 2003. She works with innovative and creative enterprises to structure and foster successful business relationships and to resolve disputes amicably and cost-effectively. Her dispute resolution activities include membership on the American Arbitration Association’s Roster of Neutrals as a Commercial Mediator and Arbitrator and representing clients in mediations and arbitrations. Lisa joined the NYSDRA Board of Directors this year.

 


Niki Lee Rowe
Niki's mediation experience started in California working with the early development of Community Mediation Programs there. She has continued as a volunteer mediator in New York since her move here. She has recently completed the NYSDRA Lemon Law arbitrator training. Professionally Niki is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York State and is certified nationally with the National Board of Certified Counselors. She holds a Certification in Biomedical Ethics, is a Certified Anger Resolution Therapist, has served as administrator of Alzhiemer's Facilities and is a nationally published author in the area of abuse investigation in long term care facilities. Niki joined the NYSDRA Board of Directors this year.

 

 

Elizabeth Shampnoi, Esq.
Liz is the Associate Director for Disputes & Negotiations at Navigant Consulting, Inc. in New York City. Here, focuses on identifying emerging issues and trends, developing innovative strategic business initiatives and preparing tactical responses to market developments. Prior to joining Navigant, Liz was an attorney at the law firm Storch Amini & Munves PC. Her primary areas of practice included complex commercial litigation, arbitration and mediation. Liz has been a NYSDRA Board Member since 2011.
 


Richard Squire
Dick Squire has been the Executive Director for ACCORD, A Center for Dispute Resolution, Inc. since 2003.  ACCORD, incorporated in 1982, serves Broome and Tioga Counties in New York's Southern Tier. As a Community Dispute Resolution Center, the agency’s mission is to promote peaceful alternatives to conflict through mediation and other dispute resolution services, training, and advocacy. Dick has been a NYSDRA Board Member since 2010.

 
Ron Vero
Ron has served on the NYSDRA Board of Directors since 2003 including two years as the board president. He has demonstrated dedication, loyalty and leadership and he has contributed outstanding service in achieving the goals and growth of NYSDRA.
