The 40 hour class is taught over two weekends at IMCR Dispute Resolution Center in Bronx County by Stephen E. Slate, Executive Director and Certified Mediation Trainer by the Office of Alternative Dispute Resolution & Court Improvement of the State of New York. Most of the classes are in English, however, since IMCR prides itself on being a bilingual organization, at least one course a year will be taught in Spanish.

The cost of the course is $850. After completing this training, individuals may be eligible to participate in an apprenticeship program at an additional cost, at IMCR's discretion. REGISTER by clicking here: website.

Early Registration: Register by April 8, 2016 and get a $150 discount.

This forty hour training is held over two consecutive weekends (Friday - Sunday) and at the end, participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance. The course emphasizes a hands-on approach while addressing current trends in community mediation. The latest developments in the field are discussed as well as strategies for successful implementation. This workshop is designed to enhance your negotiation skills, broaden your point of view and provide you with the necessary tools to improve your own relationships and those of others. The experience is educational, empowering and experiential.

Objectives of the Basic Training:

* To empower participants in the use of mediation as a principled process for dealing with conflicts and finding resolution for interpersonal disputes in all paths of life.

* To develop an awareness of the effectiveness of the mediation process and to promote its usage as a positive means for resolving disputes

* To share valuable skills that will transform the participant's attitude toward conflict and interpersonal relations.

* To provide standards of practice in the resolution of interpersonal disputes.
