Lemon Law Arbitration Program Training Held
Last Thursday February 20th, NYSDRA, in partnership with the New York State Office of the Attorney General, held their second Lemon Law Arbitrator Bridge Training at the Hispanic Federation in Manhattan.
Under the direction of co-trainers Joe Coppola and Debbie Smith, 23 arbitrators from across the New York Metropolitan area were able to observe a live mock arbitration case. A special thanks goes out to the arbitrators from the class who volunteered to take a role in the simulation. Arbitrators Ron Vero, Niki Lee Rowe, and Ken Lynch let the class examine their roles in the mock case and facilitated a discussion with the class about what they saw.
The day-long training covered a number of substantive and procedural issues that were identified as "problem areas" by a poll of current lemon law arbitrators serving on NYSDRA's arbitrator panel. With help from the participating arbitrators a number of new issues have been identified for future trainings.
Please be on the look out for more basic and advanced trainings for arbitrators and mediators through NYSDRA's programs in the coming months!
