2017 Annual Meeting Summary

The Community Dispute Resolution Center (CDRC) Directors and Staff meeting at the Office of Court Administration on March 21-22, 2017. Jennifer Huttemann-Kall, Regina Ritcey, and Julie Loesch developed an agenda that focused attention to the foundational values and practices of community mediation.


Volunteer community mediators are the foundation of the free and low cost services provided in every NY county. The focus of day one included:

·Why volunteers?


·Best practices for selecting, onboarding and apprenticing mediators



Charlotte Carter, Executive Director, reporting on NYSDRA’s advanced mediation programs, and a new $2M statewide advocacy initiative using AdWords and Justin Corbett – his research and big data connects individuals in need of conflict management with local service providers. Funding is provided by NYSAMP, as part of our 15th anniversary celebration.
