NYSDRA administers several state agency and federal government contracts for mediation and arbitration services which are provided through the network of
Community Dispute Resolution Centers (CDRCs) and private practitioners statewide. For
these programs, NYSDRA provides specialized training, assistance, quality control
and outreach to consumers as well as statistical reporting to the relevant
New York State Agricultural Mediation Program (NYSAMP) - This program offers farmers, other agricultural producers, and members of the agricultural community options to resolve problems promptly and conveniently without involving outside authorities.
New York State Board of Elections Arbitration Program - This program provides advisory arbitration for appropriate election complaints that arise from violations of Title III of the Help America Vote Act of 2002 and are referred by the New York State Board of Elections.
Early Intervention Mediation Program - This program assists families of infants and toddlers with developmental disabilities and Department of Health Early Intervention Officials to agree on services needed for the child’s Individualized Family Service Plan.
Lemon Law Arbitration Program - This program offers an
independent, efficient and fair forum to settle disputes between consumers whose
new, used and leased vehicles turn out to be "lemons" and the vehicle
manufacturer. This program has been expanded to include recreational vehicles (RVs), wheelchairs and
Special Education Mediation Program - This program offers
parents and schools the ability to reach agreement regarding a student's
educational plan/program through the use of mediation.
ACCES-Vocational Rehabilitation Mediation Program - This program offers alternative dispute
resolution options to resolve disagreements they have with their counselor
(ACCES-VR Representative) that affects the provision of their vocational
