Four things to know about Mediation:
1)Mediation is a voluntary process in which a trained third party neutral assists parties in a conflict in coming up with possible solutions to their dispute.
2) Mediation provides an opportunity for parties to resolve their differences in a comfortable and informal setting, and to do so quickly and conveniently.

3) The goal of mediation training is to provide participants with the basic theory and skills of mediation, to be able to mediate conflicts that occur in their own community.

4) Examples of conflicts that are appropriate for community mediation are neighbor disputes, family disputes, and small financial disputes.

After taking training, participants may be eligible to participate in a mediation apprenticeship program and serve as a volunteer mediator with New York Center Interpersonal Development NYCID will review your email and contact you to let you know your registration status.
