BASIC COMMUNITY MEDIATION WORKSHOP
(November 18 to 22, 2019)
Note: The training is approved by the New York State Unified Court System’s Office of ADR and Court Improvement Programs.
Trainer: Dr. Stephen E. Slate, Office of ADR Programs Certified Mediation Trainer.
Cost: $850 dollars payable online at the time of registration, by mail or in person prior to the training. At the end of the course, trainees may choose to participate in the Center’s Apprenticeship program at an additional cost of $600 dollars per person.
Schedule: Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Class size limited to a maximum of 16 participants to ensure personal attention and assistance.
Location: IMCR Dispute Resolution Center, 369 E., 148th Street, Lower Level, Bronx, New York, 10455. Subway 2 or 5 to 149th and Third Avenue. If by bus, take the 2, 15, 19, 21,41, or 42.
The Center: IMCR is the pioneer Community Mediation Center in the City of New York, established in 1975.
The Workshop: The training is experiential, empowering and educational, based on a practical methodology that blends theories and mediation practices. It is designed to enhance facilitation skills of participants, explore a variety of conflict scenarios via meaningful simulations, and provide the necessary tools to improve personal and interpersonal relations.
