This 40 hour class is taught over two weekends at IMCR Dispute Resolution Center in Bronx County by Dr. Stephen E. Slate, Executive Director and Certified Mediation Trainer by the Office of Alternative Dispute Resolution & Court Improvement of the State of New York. Most of the classes are in English, however, since IMCR prides itself on being a bilingual organization, at least one course a year will be taught in Spanish. The cost of the course is $600. After completing this training, individuals may be eligible to participate in an apprenticeship program at an additional cost, at IMCR's discretion. Participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance at the conclusion of the training. The course emphasizes a hands-on approach while addressing current trends in community mediation. The latest developments in the field are discussed as well as strategies for successful implementation. This workshop is designed to enhance your negotiation skills, broaden your point of view and provide you with the necessary tools to improve your own relationships and those of others. The experience is educational, empowering and experiential.
