About Judy Saul
Judy Saul has over four decades of experience in mediation, facilitation, training and non-profit management. She founded the Community Dispute Resolution Center (CDRC), Inc. in 1983 and served as its Executive Director for over 25 years. Under her leadership, CDRC became a nationally-recognized leader in the community mediation field. In 2009, Ms. Saul received the Lawrence Cooke Peace Innovator Award from the New York State Dispute Resolution Association.
Ms. Saul is a Certified Transformative Mediator, Fellow and Board member of the Institute for the Study of Conflict Transformation. Through the Institute, she has published articles on mediator coaching and assessment, training design and multi-party practice. She is certified as a trainer by the New York State Unified Court System and is an adjunct faculty member at Hofstra University School of Law. She has trained nationally for the Institute and the United States Postal Service's REDRESS Program as well as internationally in Australia, England, Germany, Indonesia, Kenya, New Zealand and Norway.
Ms. Saul has extensive experience dealing with conflict between individuals and facilitating planning and problem-solving processes for groups, organizations and communities. Her facilitation experience earned her a place on the roster of the US Institute for Environmental Conflict Resolution. Along with Institute colleagues, she developed Transformative Dialogue, applying the relational framework to dialogue and development processes occurring in communities that have experienced ethnic and political conflict. Since then, she has provided training in Transformative Dialogue in the US and Kenya, Norway and Jordan.
