Sharon G. Matthie, Esq. 

Sharon G. Matthie, Esq., is the immediate past President of the Westchester Black Bar Association, and has served as a board member since 2014. Sharon has been an attorney since 2007 and is admitted to the New York State Bar, First Judicial Department and New Jersey State Bar, Supreme Court of New Jersey. 


She currently serves as the Alternative Dispute Resolution Coordinator for the 9th Judicial District encompassing Dutchess, Putnam, Orange, Rockland, and Westchester Counties. Prior to starting her position, Sharon worked as an Associate Court Attorney in the Westchester County Family Court for 12 years and was assigned to the Honorable Janet C. Malone and the Honorable Rachel Hahn in Family Court working on child protective, custody and visitation, family offenses, guardianship, and child support cases. Before her role as a Court Attorney, Sharon was the Administrative Assistant to the Honorable Kathie E. Davidson, Dean of the New York State Judicial Institute.   


Sharon has served as a guest lecturer for the Scales of Justice Academy summer program teaching high school girls about the different areas of family law. Sharon also mentors law school and college interns and served as a mentor to high school girls who participate in the Judge Judy Her Honor Mentoring Program. Sharon also serves as a Judge at the Empire New York International Mock Trial Competition for high school students. 


Sharon serves as a stakeholder on the Access to Justice Initiative, the goal of which is to develop a strategic plan to provide effective assistance for all low-income individuals in the Ninth Judicial District in Westchester County and Co-Chairs the Alternative Dispute Resolution Sub-Committee.
